Can I come and view the nursery?

You are welcome to look around the nursery at any time. If you would prefer you can make an appointment by phoning, emailing or using our contact us section.

What is registration?

You will be given a registration pack containing information about the nursery, a registration form and helpful information. There is a none returnable/none deductible reservation fee of £50 payable on submission of the registration form. This will secure your child’s place in the nursery. No fee required for parents only accessing funded care.

Settling into the nursery

Prior to starting at the nursery, we would encourage settling in sessions so your child can feel secure with the new surroundings and carers. These sessions usually take place in the fortnight prior to starting with us and operate as a stay & play session for approximately an hour each time. We recommend that Mum and/or Dad stay for initial settling in visit.

What are the nursery opening hours?

The nursery opens between 7:30am and 6:30pm Monday to Friday, parents to be at nursery no later than 5:45pm to allow sufficient time to collect children and receive a comprehensive handover from the childcare team. The nursery operates throughout the year including Christmas period except all Bank holidays. Fees are incurred all year round including bank holidays, parental/child holidays and sickness, with exception of hospital admittance. Extended periods of holiday i.e. 4 weeks or more, extended periods of illness i.e. two weeks or more may attract a suspension of fees if arranged/notified in advance to the manager and parents receive written confirmation of fee suspension.

What are the staff ratios?

The OFSTED regulations require that children aged 0 – 2 years have 1 staff member to 3 children. Children aged 2 – 3 years have 1 staff member to 4 children. Children aged 3 years + have a 1 staff to 8 children. Childcare team members holding an appropriate degree qualification or a qualified EYP/EYT (Qualified teacher Status) can operate a ratio of 1 staff member to 13 children over 3 years of age.

What are the fees?

Fees are collected by Direct Debit in advance on a monthly basis. We have the facility to take debit/credit cards. Cash payments can be taken in exceptional circumstances but it not encouraged. All fees must be paid in advance of childcare, parents will be turned away at the start of the childcare session with us if fees have not been transferred appropriately and for the full amount expected. Parents will be notified and charged a late payment fee should cleared funds not be deposited into nursery accounts on individuals expected payment date. Suspension of childcare place will be applied if fees are not paid within 3 days of expected date, fees will still be accrued throughout suspension.  All outstanding fees/debts post 10 days of expected payment date will be forwarded onto collection agency and place withdrawn. We ask parents to bring nappies/pull-ups where appropriate and formula milk prepared. Fresh milk, wipes, nappy cream are provided each day within the childcare fees.

What about attendance?

Fees are payable for your booked places not your child’s attendance. Please see above section on fees. If you need extra sessions we will always try to accommodate your request, all extra sessions must be paid for in advance prior to session being utilised. We need written notice of any permanent session change you require with as much notice as possible.

Food and Drink

All our food is freshly prepared by our nursery cook at the with menus balanced each day to provide vital portions of fruit, vegetables and protein. We encourage our children to help choose our menus and welcome wholesome recipe suggestions from parents to try. We can accommodate most dietary or religious requirements, however we cannot accept packed lunches or food brought from home into the nursery due to unknown additives/ingredients this helps to ensure the health and well-being of all our children and staff.  We operate a no added sugar salt policy in relation to our menus, we do not supply fruit juice or cordials in the nursery with the exception of parties when we supply no added sugar cordials.

Do you offer free Childcare?

Funded care (term time only) is available for 2, 3 and 4 year old children. Subject to availability and meeting eligibility criteria. For parents with existing booked places the free hours will be deducted from your invoice totals as full days/sessions. Click here for further information.

Working Tax Credit is money paid by HMRC to working people. It does not matter if you are employed or self-employed, you can get money to help with childcare costs. Click here for further information.

What are Childcare Vouchers?

Childcare vouchers can save up to £2,000 per year via salary sacrifice schemes if both parents claim. To make this saving your employer needs to pay part of your salary by way of childcare vouchers which are redeemable against the cost of the childcare.
